Interior decorating

I'm the most normal member of my household. The rest of them are nuts. I was very fortunate I think in that I inherited the recessive sane gene. I relate to Gerald Durrell, one of my favourite books is his "My Family and Other Animals". My siblings and parents are all crazed. It's actually hysterical.

My elder brother has had a week off. His wife and himself have taken the "tedious" task of interior decorating. Unfortunately they have different tastes. My elder brother forgetting his wife's birthday mid week didn't help either. Their task was to paint the second bedroom 7 days later they've succeeded. Painting the bedroom, 7 times over. They had a difference of opinion as to what colour they should paint it. And the clever people had to do the entire room to make up their mind whether they liked it or not. My delicate sister in law's hands blistered after half a walls worth of painting; a combination of this and my brothers lapse of memory resulted in his responsibilty to complete the room, satisfactorily.

He did, a beautiful pale green, much like the saree I'm wearing in the corner. However the clever lot couldn't sleep at night as it apparently glowed in the dark and dazzled them allnight.

What do you say to that, eh? My Roger Moore eyebrow was at its best that day.

So they persevered. And realised if you bought just samples of the paint then you wouldnt have to paint the entire room! So the next day I enter the rainbow'd bedroom. They're born grafitti artists. They finally settled on a colour which my brother actually concocted himself. They're awfully proud.

Took them an entire week to paint a room. 7Th time lucky. Deserve a pat on the back they do.

Meanwhile, I was attempting to read through my Kirk, and spent a glorious afternoon snoozing on it and soaking the sunshine. 15 hours of sleep. Sacrilegious, I know :)
